Products Description
A bidirectional hydraulic lock is a specialized valve designed to prevent vertical outrigger hydraulic cylinders from "dropping" (where the piston rod automatically extends under gravity) or "softening" (where the piston rod automatically retracts under force) in the outrigger locking oil circuit of construction machinery. It consists of two hydraulically controlled one-way valves.
Products Application
(1) Maintaining pressure. Slide valve type reversing valves all have gap leakage and can only maintain pressure for a short time. When there is a pressure maintenance requirement, a hydraulically controlled one-way valve can be added to the oil circuit, and the tightness of the cone valve closing can be used to maintain the pressure in the oil circuit for a long time.
(2) "Support" of the hydraulic cylinder. In a vertical hydraulic cylinder, due to leakage of the slide valve and the pipe, the piston and piston rod may slide down under the weight of the piston and piston rod. Connecting the hydraulically controlled one-way valve to the oil circuit of the lower chamber of the hydraulic cylinder can prevent the movable parts such as the hydraulic cylinder piston and the slider from sliding down.
(3) Locking the hydraulic cylinder. When the reversing valve is in the middle position, the two hydraulically controlled one-way valves are closed, which can tightly seal the oil in the two chambers of the hydraulic cylinder. At this time, the piston cannot move due to external force.
(4) High flow oil discharge. The effective working area of the two chambers of the hydraulic cylinder is very different. When the piston retreats, the amount of oil discharged from the right chamber of the hydraulic cylinder increases suddenly. If a small-flow slide valve is used at this time, a throttling effect will occur, limiting the piston's retreat speed. If a hydraulically controlled one-way valve is added, when the hydraulic cylinder piston retreats, the pressure oil is controlled to open the hydraulically controlled one-way valve, and the oil in the right chamber can be discharged smoothly.

Bidirectional hydraulic locks are generally not recommended for high-speed, heavy-load applications. They are typically used in low-speed locking circuits, such as load-bearing cylinders or motors, where oil supply must be diverted to a separate circuit.
